About

Hi, my name is Jaleesa Parris,

I am a licensed esthetician and professional makeup artist in New York City. As a black woman and makeup artist of 11 years, I have seen many women come to me trying to cover their imperfections and are amazed at my skin. Inquiring about my skincare regimen while I’m perfecting their skin. As a manager working for the biggest makeup brand (MAC Cosmetics) at the time, there wasn’t time for me to go back to school to study esthetics. Since the pandemic took the world by storm, this was my time to shine. In esthetics, I noticed that black and brown people were at a disadvantage, literally. In makeup and in skincare. You have individuals who are makeup artist but don’t know how to color match correctly or estheticians/doctors who don’t know how to effectively treat our skin. Fun fact: I attended Florida Memorial University (only HBCU in South Florida) and I have my Biology degree. I wanted to become a OB/GYN but God had other plans.

Treating black and brown women and men has been my goal not only in makeup but in esthetics. Effectively knowing how to treat our skin because skin conditions look different on our skin. Esthetics textbooks don’t show or even explain how the skin is more complex in Fitz (4-6), they only scratch the surface of the information. We as estheticians have to seek out this information. I have taken many classes outside of esthetics school just to effectively learn and treat our skin and in turn, I am specifically a Corrective Esthetician. I correct hyperpigmentation, severe dryness caused by eczema, skin texture issues brought on my post acne scarring, skin tags, DPNs, and over all skin health. I’m honest with my clients and this allows me to effectively curate a treatment plan to correct their skin. The guidance and over communication allows my clients to trust my expertise and follow my plans that are individualized.
